Wackelepdia is an online encyclopedia and was created in 2004.  It was quite a learning experience because it was the first site I created that had its own unique domain and the first time I signed up for a web hosting plan.

Problem #1 - I had no idea how limited PCs where until I saw how they manage large groups of files.  A very fast hard drive is definitely required.  Microsoft FrontPage totally breaks down - it takes hours just to load in the site.

Problem #2 - Wacklepedia has nearly 200,000 files but the original hosting plan I signed up for could only support 50,000 files.  I discovered this the hard way and had to cancel the plan.

Problem #3 - The second hosting company I signed up for could only support 50,000 files.  Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice - shame on me.  But I did ask them in advance if they could support it - LIARS!!!

Finally I found a hosting company that could hold all of the files - but due to poor performance and down time, I had to move the site again.  So now it's sitting on its 4rth and hopefully final hosting location.

There is a lot of competition for online encyclopedias, but Wacklepedia still gets its share of visitors.
